Get Up Close and Personal
Totnes Rare Breeds Farm offer animal experiences to allow visitors to maximize their interaction with our breeds.
The Owl Experience – Ever wondered what it’s like to look into an owl’s eyes from just an arm’s length away? The farm offer the opportunity to handle our 10 resident owls to really take in the beauty of the species.
£40 per person holding the owls. Can be pre-booked or bought on arrival. Valid tickets must be bought alongside this experience.
Shetland Pony Grooming – If you fancy a more relaxed afternoon, why not sit down and give our 2 mischievous Shetland Ponies a fresh hair-do or a well-needed brush up.
£10.00 per person. Can be pre-booked or bought on arrival. Valid tickets must be bought alongside this experience.
The Animal Experience – This experience allows up to 4 people to exclusively meet our reptiles, Ball Python, Giant Rex rabbit, Angora Goats and Shetland Ponies guided by one of our friendly team.
£20 per 4 people. Can be pre-booked or bought on arrival. Valid tickets must be bought alongside this experience.
The need to knows
- All children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Experiences depend on staff availability.
- Experiences may be ended early, or cancelled, if there are cases of severe weather or other exceptional circumstances.
- Vouchers can be purchased in advance for the Owl Experience.

If you would like one, or multiple, of our friendly animals to attend a private event, wedding or birthday party, please contact us outlining your specific requests so we can check availability and tailor plans to your needs. We attend many different events, fates, weddings, schools, rest homes, pre-schools and many more.
